Wall of Fame
The 1950 New York University sprint medley relay team of Hugo Maiocco, Ira Kaplan, Hartley Lewis, and Reggie Pearman ran a world record 3:22.7. NYU’s record broke a mark set in 1938 by Pitt, and was not bettered until 1958, when Villanova won. Pearman was inducted in the Wall of Fame’s inaugural class of 1994, as were Pitt anchor John Woodruff and Villanova anchor Ron Delany.
