Sleepy Hollow (North Tarrytown, NY) High School ‘78; Kansas ’79

Owolabi was the first high school triple jumper to surpass 50 feet at the Carnival when he set a Relays record of 51'1" in 1977. The next year he surpassed himself, leaping 52' 2 3/4" for another Relays Record. The mark still stood as the meet record through 2007.
