Great Mills (Maryland) High School 1990

The 1990 winner of the high school girls high jump as a senior, Tanya Hughes broke the Penn Relays record with a clearance of 6-0 ½ (1.84 meters). Hughes surpassed a six-year old record, and her mark still stands today, 33 years later. The jump was Hughes’s best of the season, and was the second-highest clearance by an American high schooler that year.
