The first of only four runners to ever anchor three Championship of America 4x400m winners, Woodring was one of the stars of the 1922 Relays. His anchor leg of 47 4/5 had been bettered at the Carnival only by Ted Meredith, and wasn’t surpassed for another 11 years.
